POLOKWANE – Serial rapist and killer, Frans Mailula, was found guilty and sentenced for raping and murdering three underage girls by the Polokwane High Court last Wednesday.
Mailula, who is already serving a life sentence for rape and murder, appeared before the high court from 24 to 28 August. He was charged on five cases of murder and rape and is also linked to three other cases of the same nature.
He appeared before court for the case of three underage girls whom he is accused of raping and murdering in 2011 in the Makgwareng section of Nobody village, outside of Polokwane.
Kedibone Ledwaba (16), Refilwe Mampshika (15) and her cousin, Franscina (16), went missing on 2 May 2011.
One body was found four days later dumped on the floor of an Apostolic Church with no visible wounds. The other two bodies were found with open wounds in bushes near Mathibaskraal village the following day. On Wednesday, 26 August forensic experts in court stated Mailula’s DNA matched evidence obtained from all the victims tested.
The court found Mailula guilty and sentenced him to four life sentences.
