Special Operations Solutions (SOS) took action last Wednesday and thoroughly inspected the neglected piece of property on the corner of Taylor and Van Riebeeck Street that has turned into a bushy crime hotspot.

“We decided to offer our services after Marcelle Maritz, Head Organiser of the FreedomFront Plus in Limpopo and candidate for ward 32, brought it to our attention that numerous residents have fallen victim to crime in this spesific area.

“Our obligation is to the safety of the community and we are willing to work with anyone who is in need of our services and not a particular party,” Gary O’Farrel, owner of SOS told Bosveld.

Reaction-officers ‘sweeped’ the area that covers about a 2 ha radius on foot and Martin van Eck, reaction-officer manager, told Bosveld, “we came across clothing, shoes and two handbags that are most likely stolen.”

Bosveld reported on 9 October that the Mogalakwena Municipality started with a clean-up operation in the area and according to Maritz the operation is still on-going.
