City’s most wanted criminal behind bars
A man (29) appeared appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with several counts of rape that took place in Westenburg, Emdo Park and the Polokwane CBD between 2008 to date

POLOKWANE – Polokwane police Spokesperson, Capt Ntobeng Phala, said Frank Makgoka Masekoaneng had been on the Polokwane police’s most wanted list until his recent arrest.
Phala further said investigations continued and it is possible Masekoaneng could, at a later date, be linked to more rapes by means of DNA, as well as to burglaries and armed robberies.
“We believe he raped various women in Polokwane and Westenburg and appeal to residents to report any cases he may have been involved in,” Phala said.
“An identikit of the man will be made available to assist residents to identify the culprit. Identity parades will also be held should new cases be reported,” Phala explained.
Polokwane police station commander, Brig Sam Mokgonyana late last year said at a community policing forum meeting that the police will compile a list of the most-wanted suspects in the Polokwane area. “These suspects will be hunted down and brought to book for their crimes,” he vowed.
