Gospel diva, Ntuli climbs academic mountains

LIMPOPO – Ntuli recently qualified as Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) which is a highly sought after, yet rare qualification to obtain in the financial field.

Ntuli (37), who won the Munghana Lonene FM Best Xitsonga Gospel award last year, credits her success to hard work and dedication. “This is a reward that follows hard work and many sleepless nights,” said Ntuli. Ntuli, a senior accountant with a government department in Polokwane, says being busy is now a common part of her life.

Weekdays are spent going to work, then church and thereafter she can focus on her family duties of helping the kids with homework and other chores. Only after everyone in the house has fallen asleep does Ntuli get a chance to hit the books.

Weekends are even busier with rehearsals, concerts and church invitations taking up all her time. Raised by her widow mother who worked as a cleaner at a hospital, Ntuli defied all odds and graduated from the University of Venda with a B Com (Cost and Management Accounting) and University Education Diploma (UED). Thereafter she registered for a B Com Honours and MBA degrees with the University of Limpopo. Ntuli recalls her graduations as the happiest moments of her life.

Whilst working for the Treasury Department, Ntuli registered with the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants in London for a Diploma and Higher Diploma in Management Accounting and thereafter sat for her board exams.

Her future plans involve her enrolling for a Doctorate in Management Accounting with a reputable institution. Her music career has refused to drop out of the spotlight in place of her academic achievements.

After winning the Best Gospel award for her sophomore album, In Your Presence, doors have opened wide and CD sales rocketing sky high.

The muso is already planning her live DVD recording for 19 March at Bolivia Lodge, with tickets already being sold at Computicket.
