PEPPS Polokwane Preparatory School honoured the late Wendy Lippenberger, former librarian at the school on what would have been her birthday on Monday. Wendy succumbed to breast cancer two years ago. She worked at the school from 2002 to 2013.
With her birthday falling on leap year day this was the first occasion since her death that the school could honour her memory on her birthday. The school sold cupcakes at a “Cupcakes for Wendy” commemoration ceremony on Monday and the proceeds will go to Cansa.
A garden of remembrance was created with handmade “flowers” planted in the garden in front of the library. Her husband Herbie and daughter Natasha visited PEPPS for the occasion and was touched by the love with which she was remembered. “This is such a nice gesture of the school,” Herbie said.
“She would have been 56 now. She died in October 2013.”
Natasha remembers her mom as a fun, energetic person with lots of passion, and very much loved by all.
