Northern Academy set to mould city changers

Northern Academy is proud to be the first and only school in Limpopo to introduce a leadership programme for gr. 6 learners

POLOKWANE – Jacques Bartlett, operational head of Northern Academy’s primary school, explains this initiative.

“Most leadership discussions or debates occur around poorly researched, non-academic myths and stories. Northern Academy will present a well-researched, refined, academic curriculum to our gr. 6 learners,” says Bartlett.

According to Bartlett, the curriculum was developed by City Changers Institute (CCI), affiliated with Xpand in the UK, and Regent University in the USA.

He says the programme consist of 30 sections that will run over the course of the year.

“This amounts to one lesson a week and these lessons will be done during school hours. Other Curro schools have also implemented this curriculum with great success,” says Bartlett

He says with this curriculum in place, Northern Academy will be able to send full bodied, balanced leaders out into society to fill a huge gap, increasing the platform of opportunity for their learners.

“Each learner will receive an e-book with all lessons, and at the end of the year, each learner will receive a CCI certificate. The cost is R100 for the year and there will be no further costs involved,” concludes Bartlett.
