VUWANI ARRESTS: councillor remains behind bars

Two of the four suspects arrested over the weekend appeared in the Malamulele Magistrates Court this morning (Monday) said Limpopo police.

LIMPOPO – Takalani George Tshavhuyo (councillor from Makhado Municpality) and Prince Mashamba respectively face charges of arson, malicious damage to property and public violence says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

“The suspects have been remanded in custody until Wednesday 18 May for a formal bail application.”

The remaining two suspects who also face charges of arson, malicious damage to property and public violence will appear in Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Tuesday).

This morning seven of the group of 17 that were arrested a fortnight ago re appeared in Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court.

“Their bail hearings have been postponed to Wednesday, 18 May, concludes Otto.
