LIMPOPO – According to information the ranger was allegedly ambushed by 7 armed men while he and two other rangers were patrolling the area.
He was shot in the leg and his firearm taken. He died on the scene.
The two rangers were bound while the group proceeded in poaching and dehorning a rhino.
According to a post on Heritage protection group (HPG) Facebook page the seven suspects were tracked from Bela Bela to Hamanskraal road where they were picked up.
The investigation continues concluded the post.
