POLOKWANE – Two suspects from Mapela in Mahwelereng have been arrested and taken in for questioning after they were found in possession of a woman’s head.

The police made the grisly discovery on Sunday afternoon after following up on information about people selling human body parts.

“The suspects’ vehicle was stopped in Market Street close to the taxi rank and searched,” said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

“During the search the police found the head of a woman wrapped in newspapers.”

Meanwhile, the headless body of a young woman was found burnt under a bridge in Mapela.

“The woman has not been identified yet, and investigations are underway to find out if there is a link between the two incidents,” said Otto.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Mokerong Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
