POLOKWANE – After an armed robbery which left a man injured after he was shot in Ster Park, Review had an exclusive interview with the victim’s wife regarding the shooting, his condition and how the family is coping after the attack.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, says her husband is in a stable condition at a local hospital and is on the road to recovery. “It is tough, we have to call a police patrol car every time we leave the house now,” she said.

“We are grateful that he is alive and recovering well. “I keep myself busy so as not to think about what happened that night,” she conlcluded.

According to Polokwane Police Spokesperson, Ntobeng Phala, upon arriving at home, the homeowner noticed four men in balaclavas approach him in his driveway.

“He locked himself in his vehicle, and one of the men fired three shots, forcing him out of the vehicle and into the house. The men assaulted a domestic worker before taking her and the homeowner into one of the bedrooms where they demande money, jewellry, bank cards with pin numbers,” said Phala.

He added that once the robbers got what they were looking for, they shot the homeowner in the stomach before fleeing the scene.

After the armed suspects fled the scene, the man was rushed to hospital.

Polokwane Police Spokesperson, Capt Ntobeng Phala, confirmed that no arrests have been made as yet and he urges anyone with information about the incident to come forward. “Contact the investigating officer, Lt Hannes de Lange, on 072 724 0704 with information. All information and sources will be treated as confidential,” Phala said. A case of armed robbery and attempted murder is being investigated.
