
LIMPOPO – The 26-year-old suspect from Thohoyandou has been terrorising members of the community in Thohoyandou and the surrounding areas since August 2015 says provincial police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
During the arrest, an unlicensed police firearm was recovered, a firearm which was reported stolen during a house breaking at Acornhoek in Mpumalanga Province in May 2016.
“He is connected to 16 cases of house robberies, house breaking, rape, theft, attempted rape and possession of firearm without licence.”
He will appear before the Thohoyandou Magistrate Court today.
He may be connected to more crimes in Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces respectively.
During the same SAPS operation five other suspects were arrested in the Modimolle and Burgersfort areas. Three unlicensed firearms and two stolen motor vehicles were recovered, one being a BMW which was reported to have been stolen at Pretoria West.
Investigations are still continuing.
