LIMPOPO -The ssuepcts from Mogodi community outside Lebowakgomo were arrested after they barricaded the R37 road between Polokwane and Burgersfort on Thursday an Friday morning with burning tyres, big rocks and poles.
“The Saps crime prevention and POP reacted swiftly on Friday morning with Nyalas and a SAPS helicopter to disperse the crowds,” said provincial police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
Stones were thrown but no damage or injuries were reported he said in a earlier report.
Nine suspects who are learners were released on a R500 bail each and 27 were denied bail. The bail application was postponed for further police investigation to 31 August added Ngoepe.
The situation on the R37 is still calm. Pubic order police are still in the area to monitor the situation.
