LIMPOPO -According to police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe the suspect from Gauteng attempted to purchase 6 laptops at a local computer shop by depositing a fraudulent cheque into the account of the seller. The seller became suspicious and notified the police after the suspect sent the seller an SMS saying that he have transferred money via EFT into his bank account.

The suspect firstly sent a courier to collect the laptops on his behalf but was later trapped and arrested when he collected the goods at the set point yesterday afternoon.
He will appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate Court on Monday for fraud. Police investigations are still continuing Ngoepe adds.
“Members of the community especially the bussines community are once more advised to first request confirmation from various banks on payment before delivering or handing out the purchased items including cars to prevent this type of fraudulent incidents to happen,” concluded Ngoepe.
