Chicken thieves strike Limpopo farm

Several of the stolen chickens are not safe for human consumption. Police are appealing for information following the incident

POLOKWANE – The Stock theft unit in Lebowakgomo outside Polokwane have launched a manhunt for suspects who stole chickens at a chicken farm.

It is alleged that on Tuesday morning, 165 chickens were stolen at Sefalaolwe Seleteng chicken farm in Ga-Mphahlele village outside Lebowakgomo. Amongst the chickens stolen, 15 are sick as they were injected with a dangerous medicine which can be harmful for human consumption.

LT. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe urges members of the community to report anyone who is selling chickens suspiciously to the nearest Police Station or Detective Warrant Officer Otiyatiya Mmako at 0722940335.

“Investigations are still continuing,” said Ngoepe.
