Taxi driver shoots first, killing one

Bolobedu Police are investigating an attempted robbery and a murder following the shooting of a 27-year-old suspected robber on Friday night.

LIMPOPO – A 4o-year-old taxi driver shot one of three men unknown who boarded his taxi along the Ga-Kgapane and Mokwakwaila road last night at around 23:00, provincial police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.

“It is alleged that one of men produced a firearm and demanded money from this taxi driver who subsequently applied emergency brakes, drew a firearm and shot one of this suspects in the head. The other two men jumped out and disappeared into the night.”

The wounded man was taken to Ga-Kgapane hospital and was certified dead on arrival added Ngoepe.

“The deceased is a 27-year-old man and has been identified. The other two men are still unknown at this stage said Moatshe.

There have been no arrests as yet and police investigations are still continuing.
