POLOKWANE – Westenburg Police Spokesperson Const Napure Manamela told Review a 26-year-old man was arrested on Friday, 7 October on charges of possession of illegal cigarettes worth R214 300 in Ladanna.
The arrest came after an intelligence-based operation saw police follow leads which led to them busting a shop for selling illegal cigarettes. The man will appear in the Polokwane Court later this week.
“We urge residents not to buy these illegal cigarettes and to report the trade of them to the police,” Manamela said.
