Ndivhuwo Mudau, a medical doctor working at Tshilidzini Hospital outside Thohoyandou appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Thursday) after which the case was postponed to next Thursday for bail application.

Mudau, as suspect in the murder case of Refilwe Masinamela, his girlfriend, turned himself in to Police on 14 October. A manhunt had been launched for his arrest following the discovery of Masinamela’s body at the staff quarters on the hospital premises a week earlier.

Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe previously said Mudau will face a charge of murder. The deceased, a student at the University of Venda, had reportedly sustained several stab wounds.
