Three suspects allegedly involved in a series of armed robberies were arrested during an operation by the Crime Intelligence Unit and Detectives Unit in Tzaneen yesterday (Thursday) and are expected to appear in the Lenyenye Magistrate’s Court today (Friday) or on Monday.

Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said the men were arrested in Balloon village in Maake and aged 20, 25 and 30. A firearm with three cartridges was recovered.

“Meanwhile a Seshego Cluster Task Team and Crime Intelligence Unit arrested a 35-year-old suspect on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition yesterday (Thursday). Two firearms and nine live rounds of ammunition were recovered. The confiscated items were hidden in a music system,” Ngoepe said.

The suspect will appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court soon.
