Police crack down on drug dealers in province

Dagga worth more than R390 000 was confiscated

LIMPOPO – Over the past few days, the provincial clean-up operation conducted by an intelligence-led joint-operation has led to the arrest of four men for possession of illegal substances.

Police spokesperson Lt. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe confirms a 26-year-old man was arrested in Moletlane village outside Lebowakgomo yesterday (Wednesday) for possession of dagga.

During the arrest, 41.634 kg dagga with the street value of R123 000, a BMW and a Ford Ranger were confiscated.

The suspect will appear before Magatle Magistrate’s Court soon.

Police in Tickelyne village in the Maake Policing area arrested three more men this morning (Thursday), aged 33, 35 and 50 for dealing in dagga. They were found with 90kg dagga believed to be from Swaziland with a street value of R270 000.

Two vehicles, a red Mitsubishi bakkie and a white Toyota bakkie with no registration numbers were also seized by police.

The three suspects will appear before the Lenyenye Magistrate’s Court soon and investigations are continuing.
