Modjadjiskloof farmer in court for attempted murder

The 70-year-old farm owner allegedly shot a 30-year-old man after accusing him of theft.

LIMPOPO – Michael Toulou (70) appeared in Modjadjiskloof Periodical Court yesterday (Tuesday) on charges of attempted murder, says the police.

According to Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo the said incident occurred after the accused allegedly confronted the victim, Simon Mmethi of stealing some wood from his farm. He then shot the victim.:

Mojapelo added that Mmethi is still in hospital recovering from his injuries sustained during the shooting.

The incident took place at Toulou’s farm on 4 January. The court granted him R10 000 bail and postponed the case to March 28.
