A statement issued by Westenburg Police Spokesperson, Constable Maphure Manamela, confirmed the raid.
“It is a major breakthrough and this made us feel more motivated to work even harder to track down and arrest wrong doers. Although we are happy regarding making an arrest this big, this will serve as motivation for us to keep cleaning the streets,” Manamela said.
Manamela says she hopes this will deter other perpetrators from committing crimes.
“We hope this will serve as an example to others who are committing crimes. We are still investigating the matter and hope that this leads to more arrests,” she added.
Furthermore, a 30-year-old white male was arrested during the raid and will appear in court soon on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition.
