Suspects wanted for kidnapping, double murder

It is alleged the deceased were taken from their homes by force

LIMPOPO – The Police in Levubu outside Thohoyandou have launched a massive manhunt for a group of community members who allegedly kidnapped and killed two men yesterday (Monday).

The victim’s, identified as Nyelisani Thandavhathu (32)  and Lufuno Munyai (43), were accused by residents of being involved in criminal activities and were taken by force from their homes in the Mashau Matsindevhe area, said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“It is alleged that on Sunday the community gathered at the local head mans kraal, went to the two deceased’s homes and kidnapped them. Their bodies were found the next day,” added Ngoepe.

No arrests have been made as yet and police investigations continue.

Members of the Community are warned to refrain from taking the law in their hands by assaulting or killing those suspected of committing crimes because they are becoming criminals themselves.
