Modimolle Home Affairs official out on bail

The 32-year-old Modimolle Home Affairs official who faces a charge of corruption reappeared before the Modimolle Magistrate's Court yesterday (Wednesday).

LIMPOPO – John Baloyi  allegedly confiscated the passport of a foreign national in January 2017 during a multidisciplinary operation comprising  of SARS,Home Affairs and SAPS and demanded a bribe from the complainant in order to get his passport back.

The matter was reported to the Hawks Limpopo Anti-Corruption Unit and Baloyi was arrested immediately after receiving the said bribe.

Baloyi was granted R2 000 bail and is to reappear before the court on 8 March.
