LIMPOPO – The Police in Waterval outside Makhado have arrested a 27-year-old man for the rape of a woman in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
It is alleged that the man broke into the house at around 03:30 while the 25-year-old victim was sleeping. He broke down the door, threatened her and then raped her said, Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
“After this ordeal, the suspect fell asleep which allowed the victim to escape and call the police. The police reacted swiftly and found the suspect still asleep and arrested him,” he added.
The suspect will appear before the Watervaal Magistrate’s Court on Monday for housebreaking and rape, said Ngoepe.
Police investigations are still continuing.
