Police unravel Limpopo stock theft syndicate

Police arrested two men this morning (Friday) after they attempted to sell suspected stolen animals in the Seshego area.

POLOKWANE – Members of the Police Stock Theft Unit received a tip-off and arrested the two men aged 26 and 35, said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“During the arrest 14 sheep were recovered. These animals were later confirmed to have been stolen from Phofu village in the Ga-Matlala area last evening (Thursday).”

The suspects have since been connected to a series of stock theft cases in the Matlala, Moletjie, and Mokopane areas. They will appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of stock theft, Ngoepe said.

Police investigations continue.
