Man assaulted and burnt to death in yet another mob-related incident outside Louis Trichardt

The Waterval Police have launched a search party for a group of suspects who were involved in the brutal assault and murder of man outside Louis Trichardt last night (Wednesday).

LIMPOPO – According to statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, it is alleged that the group of people gathered at around 18:00, tracked down the deceased and assaulted him using various objects.

“Before the suspects fled the scene, they set the man’s body on fire and left him to burn in a street in Muwaweni village.”

The motive behind this incident is not yet clear and the identity of the deceased (believed to be in his 30’s) will be determined through a forensic investigation, he added.

The suspects in this case are unknown and no arrests have been made as yet.

The police further appeal to anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspect’s in this matter to contact Detective/Sergeant Kubayi at 071 602 0268 or Captain Boshomane at 079 894 5501. Alternatively they can contact their nearest police station, the 24-hour crime stop number at 0860010111 or the crime line sms 32211.

The police investigations continue.
