Three in dock credit card fraud worth millions

Three employees of the Entabeni Legends Lodge appeared in the Mokopane Magistrate's Court after they were arrested for fraud to the amount of R2 million.

MOKOPANE – According to Entabeni’s Media Liaison Officer, Elzanne Webb, the fraud was discovered by the lodge manager and the bank.

The receptionist committed credit card fraud and after her arrest she admitted two other employees were also involved.

“The accused were all handed over to the authorities and are subsequently no longer in the employment of the lodge,” Webb said.

The lodge would like to emphasise that this was an isolated incident and the case is sub judice.

They appeared in court on charges of R2 million theft from Entabeni and infringement of section six of the Combating Organised Crime Money Laundering Act.

The accused pleaded not guilty and were granted bail.

Investigations are ongoing and the accused will appear again in the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court on 20 September.
