Limpopo roads among most dangerous in South Africa
The Road Traffic Management Corporation has released the top 20 high-accident routes in South Africa.
POLOKWANE – If you travel from Gauteng to the Limpopo, it is inevitable that you will travel on one of the high-accident routes.
The N1 between Mokopane and Polokwane is regarded as the third most dangerous road to travel in South Africa and the N2 between Polokwane and Makhado has the forth highest accident route.
Travelling between Mokopane and Mookgopong, on the N1, you will travel on the ninth highest-accident route. The R71 between Polokwane and Tzaneen is the tenth dangerous road to travel in South Africa.
Between Hoedspruit and Hazeview, is the R40, and the eleventh high- accident road. If you travel on the R573 Moloto road from Gauteng, Limpopo to Mpumalanga you will be travelling on the 18th highest accident road.
What is disturbing is that 50% off the top ten highest-accident routes are around Mokopane, Mookgopong and Polokwane.
