Dagga worth R210 000 confiscated outside Polokwane during Lim SAPS operation

The operation was conducted along the R37 by various policing units.

POLOKWANE – Two suspects, aged 43 and 46-years-old were intercepted and arrested while transporting bags of dagga.

During the arrest, five 12.5kg bags of dagga, with a street value of R210 000 were recovered.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says a Mercedes Benz as well as R6 200 in cash were recovered too.

Meanwhile, in Seshego, four suspects between the ages of 23 and 36-years-old were intercepted en-route to commit armed and business robberies in and around Seshego, Westenburg and Polokwane policing areas and were arrested.

During the arrest, a silver revolver, a blue Honda jazz and five cell phones were recovered.

“The origin of the cars and cell phones are still being determined through ongoing investigations,” said Ngoepe.

The arrests emanate from a concerted effort by the police in Limpopo to deal with various crime categories head on.

“The operations conducted consisted of various police units including crime intelligence, K9 ,POP, detectives, the provincial tracking team, the provincial drug unit and the crime prevention unit which focused on all crime infested areas, yielding positive results in the process,” Ngoepe explained.

He said all arrested suspects will appear before respective Magistrates Courts, soon.
