POLOKWANE – The municipality has advised that notice has to be given to residents, via public platforms as well information packs that will be dropped off at each household, before the municipality and its contractors enter a particular neighbourhood to install electricity and water meters
Spokesperson for the Polokwane Municipality, Matshidiso Mothapo says these information packs will contain images and names of the installers, as well as contact details where the authenticity of the contractors can be verified.
“We wish to encourage residents in these and other wards to be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the nearest South African Police Services (SAPS),” he said.
Should residents need to verify any information regarding contracted workers, they are advised to contact the Smart Metering Support Centre on 0873502770 or SMS # 32915.
