Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, crowned Miss Universe 2017
Nel-Peters (22) is the second South African to win the title after Margaret Gardiner won the title in 1978.

Nel-Peters (22) is only the second South African to win the title after Margaret Gardiner won the title in 1978.
The business management graduate beat 91 other contestants to the title in Las Vegas on Sunday.

The runner-up was Miss Colombia Laura Gonzalez. The second runner-up was Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett.
