Planned shut down at Ebenezer plant due to maintenance, shortages expected warns muni

This shutdown is expected to last around 12 hours and residents are advised to prepare for a water shortage in the city

POLOKWANE – The municipality has received notification from Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) that there will be shut down at the Ebenezer Plant on Wednesday 13 December 2017.

This shutdown is due to allow for the replacement of a valve at Sophie Mamabolo, the repairing of a leaking pipeline around SM26 and the gasket replacement at pump station pump 5A and B, says the Polokwane Municpality.

The maintenance is expected to last for more than 12 hours and high catchment areas with the city, Ga-Mamabolo and Mankweng will be affected.

This morning water reservoir reading were as follows:
– Seshego at 25%,
– Potgieter at 92%,
– Extension 34 at 90%,
– Ebenezer at 84%,
– Olifantspoort at 2541 l/s.

The public is advised to prepare for this shortage and to continue to use water sparingly during this period.
