LIMPOPO – The remaining escapee, Tumelo Vincent Kgoedi, was re-arrested on Sunday.
The police made the arrests after following up on a tip-off received from residents in the Tubatse area. During the arrest two unlicensed firearms were confiscated, said Police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
This escapee will appear before Praktiseer Magistrates Court today (Monday 26 February 2018) on a charge of possession of unlicensed firearms and the following week on a charge of escaping from lawful custody.

LIMPOPO -One escapee has been shot and killed an a second escapee wounded while trying to evade arrest on Monday, the police confirmed.
According to Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, police officers received a tip-off on the whereabouts of the two suspect and managed to corner them at two separate locations. Simon Mokone (23) allegedly started shooting at the officers who returned fire. He was fatally wounded during the incident. Sandile Emmanuel Lebambo (31) was shot in the leg while trying to evade arrest is is being treated at a local hospital. Once discharged he will appear before the Praktiseer Magistrates Court on a charge of escaping from lawful custody.
Tumelo Vincent Kgoedi (28) who was arrested for murder and attempted murder is still on the run and the polkice urge anyonw with information which can lead to the re-arrest of the remaining escapee to contact Brigadier Lucas Tlhako at 082 565 7584 or Colonel Lazarus Ngele at 082 573 3645. LIMPOPO – The police have launched a manhunt for three awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from the Tubatse police holding cells this morning, confirmed the police on Monday.
According to a statement issued by Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, it is alleged the prisoners escaped through the roof of the exercise room at around 06:30. “The officers heard a hard knock at the cell doors and responded swiftly and on arrival they found the three men already gone.”

These escaped prisoners were identified as follows:
Sandile Emmanuel Lebambo (31) were arrested on charges of rape, house breaking and theft and assault GBH.
Simon Mokone (23) were arrested on charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances , possession of firearm without license and possession of suspected stolen properties.
Tumelo Vincent Kgoedi (28) were arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder.
The circumstances behind this escaping incident is subject to police investigations as they are still unfolding, said Ngoepe.
