The recently established Limpopo Special Economic Zone Board of Directors is tasked with monitoring the development of the Musina-Makhado Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The board is made up of Herbert Maserumule, Kenosi Selane, Rachmond Haward, Piet Sebola, Ketetji Mphela, Sipho Zikode and James Morotoba.
The Musina-Makhado SEZ is anticipated to attract social infrastructure investments in housing, clinics in the area, as well as rail and road network infrastructure to facilitate rapid transit of goods from within South Africa into the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the world.
This is according to Limpopo Economic Development Agency (Leda) spokesperson Patrick Monkoe, who highlighted that the SEZ is envisaged to have a metallurgical cluster comprising among others, the coke plant, ferrochrome plant, ferro-manganese, pig iron plant and a power plant.
