Treasurer and Acting Secretary of the crew, Khalid Gallant, said they felt the girls needed some assistance with sanitary pads as most families struggle to buy their daughters the bare necessities every month. “We felt as a team it was only right to donate these sanitary pads to the primary and high school girls. When they do go through that stage of their lives they will need their parents or teachers’ assistance on what to do, which means with these sanitary pads, the teachers can offer them each a pack,” Khalid said.

Hoërskool Westenburg Secondary Principal, Bettie Boom, received the sanitary pads on behalf of the school and Good Hope Primary School Head of Department (HOD) Johanna Scheepers and Principal Cindy Buys accepted the sanitary pads on behalf of their school.
