Family including two children tied up and assaulted during attack on farm outside Thabazimbi
The family were attacked in their home at Hoopdal outside Thabazimbi on Tuesday night
LIMPOPO – “It is alleged the family were in their house when five unknown armed suspects entered their home, held them at gun point and tied them up. The suspects then assaulted the victims, aged four, nine, 48 and 65, robbed them of their belongings and fled the scene in the house owners silver-grey Toyota Hilux ,” said Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
During the incident seven rifles, two hand guns, four cellphones, jewellery and an unknown amount of money were taken.
A few hours after the attack the victims managed to untie themselves and notify the authorities. A joint manhunt, including the police and other role players, was immediately launched and the injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, added Ngoepe.
“Following the joint manhunt operation, the victim’s Toyota Hilux bakkie was found abandoned in the North West Province. The suspects are still unknown and there are no arrests as yet,” he said.
