Quick police reaction leads to recovery of goods stolen from Limpopo school

The operational strategies by the provincial police have yet again yielded positive results with the latest recovery of various stolen properties in Apel on Tuesday.

LIMPOPO – The recovery of these items follows a burglary at a local school in  Ga-Nchabeleng village in the Apel policing precinct on Tuesday morning between 00:00 and 03:00.

“Later the evening patrolling police officers spotted a Toyota Quantum parked next to another school in the area and attempted to confront the occupants. The suspects immediately drove off and a car chase ensued to a river where the suspects abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot,” said Police spokesperson Capt Mamphaswa Seabi.

Various suspected stolen goods were recovered inside the vehicle. These included two overhead projectors, six computers, six laptops and various items used to commit burglary amoung others.

“The origin of these recovered items is subject to police investigations,” added Seabi.

The police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects involved in this matter and appeal to anyone with information to contact Captain Rasedile at 082 414 1474. Alternatively they can contact the police emergency number on 0860010111, the crime sms line 32211 or the nearest police station.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has applauded the officers for their swift reaction. “Any form of criminality in and around schools premises  will not be tolerated and we are ready to take criminals on”, Concluded General Ledwaba.
