A 21-year-old suspect arrested during a sting operation in Seshego on Tuesday after being found in possession of nearly
11 kg of dagga, is expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court soon.
According to Maphure Manamela of the Provincial Police Media Centre the Police received a tipoff about the suspect travelling in a vehicle allegedly with dagga hidden inside.
Police quickly mobilised and traced the vehicle at Luthuli Park where it was searched.
During the search Police found 10,79 kg of dagga worth thousands of Rand hidden in bags and containers, according to Manamela. She added that R1 200 in cash, believed to be proceeds of the drug trade, was also confiscated.
The suspect is facing charges of possession of and dealing with dagga.
