Children being cared for by Adonai Children’s Centre in Westenburg can look forward to some special Christmas cheer this Festive Season after the management of Mall of the North (MoN), through their social outreach programme, donated toys to the centre last Thursday.
The facility accommodates less fortunate and underprivileged children from Disteneng, Nirvana, Seshego and Westenburg.
Mari Delport, marketing manager at MoN said they hoped the toys would make a difference in the lives of the children living at the centre. “These children are special to us. We are also approaching Christmas and hope that with the toys they will enjoy the essence of Christmas.”
Delport also took the opportunity to wish all the shoppers at Mall of the North a happy Festive Season and reminded them of their late shopping event scheduled for 14 December from 9:00 to 21:00.
Centre manager Angela Salter said the children will enjoy and appreciate the toys. “We want to thank MoN for reaching out to us. We cater for children from various backgrounds and some have never played with toys. We still can’t find words to thank them. The gesture will definitely bring joy and smiles to the faces of the children.”
