Athletes from primary schools in the Pietersburg circuit dominated the charts during the Polokwane cluster athletics meeting at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday.
Pietersburg circuit athletics secretary Andronicca Somo indicated that athletes from the Seshego and Maraba circuits also did exceptionally well. She added that the team of track and field athletes selected from the meeting would represent the circuit at the Capricorn district athletics meeting scheduled for 15 February at the same venue.
She pointed out the seven clusters that would compete as Polokwane North, Polokwane South, Sekgosese, Kone Kwena, Mankweng, Senwabarwana and Mogodumo.
After the district competition, the top performers will proceed to the provincial challenge.
She urged coaches to continue training their athletes until the nationals.
Somo concluded by applauding athletes, coaches, officials and parents for their commitment.
