New Horizon School’s inter-house athletics meet recently revealed the rich talent that exists in both field and track events among its intellectually impaired learners.
The event was aimed at preparing and selecting a team of 15 athletes to represent their school at the Provincial Athletics Championships for intellectually impaired athletes at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium last Wednesday.
Principal Robinson Phooko indicated that 54 athletes participated in the meeting. He also pointed out that while six of their athletes made it to the provincial team last year they were hoping to increase the number this year.
Phooko described the meeting as a success and wished all the athletes the best of luck in future competitions. He thanked parents and staff for their continued support and for always ensuring that school activities turn out a major success.
