Local food connoisseurs can look forward to an unforgettable experience from 26 to 28 April when the third annual Turkish Food festival takes place at the overflow parking area of Mall of the North.
The event is hosted by Enderun College, an education programme of the Universal Islamic Cultural Trust (UICT) with a branch in Polokwane and more than ten similar events were hosted in other main centres in South Africa which included Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town, says Fatih Dursun, Limpopo Director of UICT.
The event starts at 11:00 on both days and will end at 19:00 and food and drinks will be served under tents to create a festive atmosphere.
“We have a much bigger venue this year and judging from last years’ experience, we are confident that we will attract close to 2 000 visitors this year,” Dursun said.
Middle-Eastern delights such as Adana Kebabs, Doner Rolling Shawarmas, Kumpir Baked Potatoes, Baklava and naturally Turkish Delights will be on the menu while traditional Turkish tea and coffee will be a perfect round-off for a culinary tour of the stalls with something for everyone.
There will also be a kiddies zone to ensure a family friendly outing with much to learn about the Turkish culture.
Entrance is free and Dursun can be contacted on 082 786 7086 for more information.
