Polokwane woman still considered missing despite active social media, says police

Lindi Bezuidenhout was reported missing in 2017 after she left home in Flora Park to visit relatives in East Rand

POLOKWANE – Police are still appealing to the public to help reunite missing woman, Lindi Bezuidenhout with her family.

This despite Review being notified that she has been living in Klerksdorp for the past year or so.

In a statement issued by police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe, Lindi, who was 26-years-old at the time of her disappearance, was last seen at a house in Flora Park in 2017

“It is alleged she left Polokwane in 2017 to visit her relatives who stayed in the East Rand, Gauteng. Unfortunately, she never reached her destination and has since never returned home.”

With the new information received, Review contacted Ngoepe to find out what the next steps are and he had the following to say:

“A missing persons case is very sensitive. We cannot go with information from social media, it is up to the person/people who reported her missing to come to us to tell us that she is living in Klerksdorp. Up until then, it is still an active missing person’s case,” he explained.

A Review facebook fan has since reported the Facebook profile in question to the police, to which she was told that the matter would be escalated to the investigating officer handling the case.
