10-year-old among 4 dead in Lebowakgomo hit-and-run incident

Four family members were walking along the Maralaleng gravel road when they were knocked down by a vehicle travelling from Lekurung to Dithabaneng

POLOKWANE – Police in Lebowakgomo are investigating a case of culpable homicide after four people were hit by a motor vehicle near Maralaleng village in the Ga-Mphahlele area on Tuesday night, 17 September 2019.

Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says four family members between the ages of 10 and 55 were walking along the Maralaleng gravel road when they were knocked down by a vehicle travelling from Lekurung to Dithabaneng.

The four deceased have been identified as:
– Veronica Maswinyane (55).
– Pontsho Kadiaka (30).
– Constance Kadiaka (40).
– Thereso Kadiaka (10).

“Emergency services workers declared all four people dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is unclear at this stage but ongoing police investigations will tell,” Ngoepe’s statement concluded.
