Shoprite Polokwane Market Street presented fire fighters attached to Working of Fire (WoF) with replenishments, light meals and snacks last Wednesday in an effort to encourage and thank them for their efforts and hard work distinguishing recent wildfires across the province.
According to Dorothy Nkoana, Back Admin Manager at Shoprite Market Street the gesture was aimed at encouraging and supporting the fire fighters for the good work they are doing in the province. “We gave them 50 energy bars, 50 pies and 50 energy drinks. We were impressed with their efforts in ensuring that all fires are suppressed. They did a splendid job because fires have a negative impact on the economy and they badly affect the community,” Nkoana said.
Tshepo Malatji, General Manager for WoF in Limpopo said they are grateful to Shoprite for acknowledging the work the fire fighters are doing. “We thank Shoprite for the gesture and may they continue reaching out to other organisations,” Malatji said.
