Residents in high-lying areas often go without water for weeks on end due to low reservoir levels

POLOKWANE – With the recently announced implementation of water-shedding by the Polokwane Municipality, the question arose of which parts of Polokwane fall in the high lying areas.

Spokesperson for the municipality, Thipa Selala, says that high-lying areas refers to the upper areas where the force of gravity is high and when there is low water pressure the water is unable to reach those areas. These include parts of Flora Park, Serala View, Thornhill, Bendor, Ivy Park and ext 34.

According to the Municipal Manager, Dikgape Makoben, the aim of the water-shedding process is to supply water in equal amounts to high and low lying areas,
