Watch out for Transnet Company at 064-911-8008 scam on social media
Desperately looking for a job? Don’t trust just any page on social media that offer you jobs galore.

LIMPOPO – Review received information about a scam, involving a supposed job opportunity at Transnet, which was advertised on Facebook.
A number of vacancies were advertised on the page, including for Netcare Pholoso Hospital and Coca-Cola.
These companies confirmed that it is not part of their recruitment methods to advertise on Facebook.
The information given was that a person applying for a job should first contact the “HR Manager”.
When we phoned, we were asked to supply a name and the title of the position we were interested in.
We were also asked if we had money to have a medical examination done as the company provided this service, done by their own doctor, at a cost of R1 500.
This amount had to be deposited into a back account first and foremost.
In the background of the conversation, another person was seemingly attempting to trace the number from where we phoned. A while later, the call was ended abruptly.
Various phone numbers were used for various job vacancies on this page.
Our journalist also phoned a person who applied for a job as security officer, trained in handling fire-arms, who said he paid R6 000 to secure a job.
Bernice Grey from Greys Personnel confirmed that nobody request money for whatever reason when you apply for a job. Such persons must be reported at the Department of Labour or the Association of Personnel Recruitment Organisations.
“All recruitment agencies must also be registered. Should there not be an office address on their website, be careful. The possibility is that they may not be registered and fraudulent. People are desperate to find a job and may easily be misled by these scamsters,” she said.
