2 killed in collision on R37

A case of culpable homicide has been opened.

LIMPOPO – Two people have died in an earlier incident on the R37 near Madiseng village at around 05:00 this morning.

A silver bakkie and white hatchback collided and the driver (31) of the bakkie and his passenger were certified dead on the scene.

Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, in a statement said the police in Tubatse, outside Burgersfort, are investigating a case of culpable homicide following the incident.

“The cause of this accident is not clear at this stage but the ongoing police investigations will tell,” he said.

The identities of the deceased will be released once their next of kin have been officially informed, Ngoepe added.
