MTV Europe Music Award for Master KG

Master KG won the Best African Act and thanked everyone who helped him win the award.

LIMPOPO – The Jerusalema hit-maker, Master KG, was the winner of this year’s Best African Act at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA). He was nominated alongside Burna Boy (Nigeria), Rema (Nigeria), as well as fellow South Africans; Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa.

Jerusalema has amassed more than 220 million views on YouTube and started a global craze; the #JerusalemaDanceChallenge.

In his acceptance speech, via MTV Africa on Twitter, he thanked everyone who helped him win the award.

“I would like to thank every person out there for making this possible. I would love to thank my sister Nomcebo, my team at Open Mic Productions, everyone who is behind Master KG and all my fans all over the world. Without you, I don’t think this would be possible. Wanitwa mos,” he said.
