Armed robbery suspects nabbed outside Seshego
The men had earlier the same day attacked, tied up and robbed a couple from the Senwabarwana policing area.

POLOKWANE – Two of three men who reportedly robbed a local couple of an undisclosed amount of money during a recent house robbery, have been arrested, Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed in a statement on Thursday.
On Monday, 18 January the police received information about and armed robbery at a home in the Senwabarwana policing area outside Polokwane. “It is alleged three armed men entered the couple’s home, tied them up and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of money before they fled in the victim’s vehicle.”
The police were alerted and the stolen vehicle was spotted inside a yard in Blood River village outside Seshego. Ngoepe explained that when the members from the Highway Patrol team approached the house the three men attempted to escape through a window. “Two of the men were arrested on the spot and the third man managed to flee on foot.” The stolen vehicle was recovered and a second vehicle, which was reported to be stolen in the Matlala policing area, was also recovered.
The two accused, aged, 25 and 28 will appear in the local court soon.
These arrests are part of ongoing sting operations that were conducted by the LHP across the province between Monday, 18 January until yesterday, Wednesday, 20 January. During these operations a total of 12 people were arrested for various offences that include possession and dealing in drugs, possession of illicit cigarettes, possession of stolen vehicle, house and business robberies, possession of firearms and ammunition, fraud and Contravention of the Disaster Management Act.
Among these arrests was two men in Sekhukhune for possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and contravention of Disaster Management Act. On Thursday evening at around 23:30, LHP members stopped a sedan along the R519 road at Ga-Moloi village outside Burgersfort. “The occupants could not provide sufficient reason why were they traveling during the curfew period, they were arrested and searched and an unlicensed firearm and ammunition were recovered.
All the suspects will appear before the relevant magistrate’s court.
Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt Genl Neke Ledwaba applauded the team for the continuous determination shown in the fight against criminal activities in the province.
